The SCCS is the driving force behind the restoration of the 10½ mile long Somersetshire Coal Canal. By joining the Society you are supporting us in our work and you will receive regular copies of our full colour magazine ‘Weigh-House’ delivered to your door. Our magazine contains updates on our restoration progress and a range of interesting articles describing the history of the canal and its structures.

Annual membership cost £10 and you can purchase life membership for only £200.

Every member is allocated a membership number and your email address will be added to our membership email group, so that we can contact you with news of events or other items of interest. Your personal information will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will not be disclosed to other bodies.
Your membership number will be shown on your membership reminder. It also appears alongside your postal address on the Weigh-House address label, as shown circled below.

Wills
Leaving a gift to the Somersetshire Coal Canal Society in your will, no matter how large or small, will help us to continue the work of preserving and restoring the canal for future generations. If you wish to do this, a legacy to the society should refer to it by its full official title: The Somersetshire Coal Canal Society, Registered Charity No 1207513.
