Terminus Bridge restoration – nearly done!

As I write this we’re very nearly ‘done’ on the restoration of Terminus Bridge. I say ‘bridge’, although there’s not actually a bridge there at present. But we’ve come a long way since this picture in 2022, which showed how much work there was still to do…

We’re now at the point where a bridge could be reinstated, with the landowner’s consent. But more importantly, the wing-walls are practically complete (bar some final in-filling), and this section of the canal is almost ready to be returned to water. What a momentous day that will be! There’s just a sluice gate that needs some attention first, but in the grand scheme of things that should be a relatively straight-forward job (famous last words!).

We’ll be very excited to extend the current waterway into this next section, and will no doubt provide a further update and some photos when we do. Thanks so much to all the volunteers that have donated their time, skills and energy to get us this far. Great work, Team!
